Comments
When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string (hash) from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service. Their privacy policy is here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile photo may be visible to the public.
Media
If you upload images, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site can download and extract this data.
Cookies
If you comment, you may opt-in to save your name, email, and website in cookies. These last for one year and are for convenience.
When you visit our login page, we’ll set a temporary cookie to test if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is removed when you close your browser.
When you log in, we set cookies to save login info and display settings. Login cookies last two days; "Remember Me" cookies last two weeks. Logging out removes them.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. It includes the post ID and expires in 1 day.

Articles may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles). Embedded content behaves the same as visiting the original site.

How long we retain your data
Comments and metadata are retained indefinitely. This helps us approve follow-ups automatically.
If you register, we store the personal info in your user profile. You can view, edit, or delete your data at any time (except username). Admins can also edit that info.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account or have commented, you can request an exported file of your personal data or ask us to erase it. This doesn’t include data required for legal or security purposes.
